Credit Card Fees

Credit Card Fees can be applied to all bookings, both online and/or through the Bookeasy Staff Console and are a great way to offset the merchant fees charged by the Booking Centre's bank.

 

Fees may also be set up if more than one merchant fee is charged e.g. Visa/Mastercard has one fee, and Amex/Diners may have another fee.

 

Note:  Credit Card Fees described in this section are a variation of Booking Fees and Amendment Fees.  We also recommend that you do not setup both a Booking Fee and Credit Card Fee.

 

1.Ensure the "Booking Fee" category has been setup
 
Note:  This step only needs to be set up once, not every time a fee type is added.
 
From the main menu of the Staff Console
On the top grey menu bar (second line)
Administration > Retail Sales > Categories

Enter Category and Description
 
If Internal Sales box is selected, the fee will automatically be added to internal bookings
If Web Sales box is selected, the  fee will automatically be added to online bookings
 
Note:  Staff may cancel booking fees on reservations if appropriate

2.Setup the Fee
 
From the main menu of the Staff Console
On the top grey menu bar (second line)
Administration > Retail Sales > Products

Code - Enter bookingfee if the Fee is a set amount, or bookingfee% if the Fee is a percentage amount.
 
Description - The text entered here will display on the itinerary.
 
Category - Select the category entered in step one, from the drop down menu
 
Retail Price - Enter the booking fee amount or percentage
 
Web Sales - if this box is selected, the booking fee will automatically be added to online bookings
 
Internal Sales - if this box is selected, the booking fee will automatically be added to console bookings
 
Save

3.Setup the 2nd Fee (if applicable)
 
From the main menu of the Staff Console
On the top grey menu bar (second line)
Administration > Retail Sales > Products

Code - Enter amendmentfee if the Fee is a set amount, or amendmentfee% if the Fee is a percentage amount.
 
Description - The text entered here will display on the itinerary.

Web Sales - if this box is selected, the booking fee will automatically be added to online bookings

4.Credit Card Fee in Action
 
The Credit Card Fee will appear in bold red in the shopping cart

The fee forms part of the itinerary

Note:  The fee will automatically appear on online bookings, if selected in step 2.
 
Note:  The fee will automatically appear on console bookings, if selected in step 2.
 
It is recommended to activate on both online and console bookings

The fee is able to be cancelled by staff (i.e. client pays cash or eftpos in the centre)
 

5.Second Credit Card Fee in Action
 
The fee forms part of the itinerary
 
Note:  The fee will automatically appear on console bookings, if selected in step 2.
 
It is recommended to a second credit card fee on internal bookings only.
 
After a booking has been made by a staff member
 
Select Add Amendment Fee

The fee is able to be cancelled by staff (i.e. client pays cash or eftpos in the centre)
 
Note:  When applying this fee, you may be required to cancel the Credit Card Fee (Booking Fee)
