The main menu and landing page when you login to the Bookeasy staff console will remain the same. The accommodation search is still accessed through the same process; through the ‘Accommodation Search’ button within the main menu.
The new search gadget provides the same search options as the previous version, with a few great new added features.
Upon searching, the property list is now displayed by default as instant booking properties. The results can be sorted by default, instant confirmation, price, property name and rating; simply choose your sorting preference in the ‘sort by’ drop down box.
Included within the initial search results will be their live rates and availability. The property name search is still available, and the advanced search options have been consolidated within the drop down menus on the right-hand side of the booking gadget.
The operator profile is now available with one simple click. By clicking on the property name in the search results, the property’s full profile will pop-up on the screen with a complete description, current deals and specials, contact details, images, a full list of facilities and an interactive map. There is no need to click back, simply close the pop-up with the ‘X’ and you will return to your orginal search results.
You can now click on ‘View Rooms’ which will provide a quick preview of all rooms for that particular property, including a brief description of each room. The live rates are listed for each room, and you can click straight through to book the room. You can view and hide room types for each property as required.
For each room type, you will see a ‘more info’ button. This will provide you with more information on each room type at a glance, including the full room description, room configurations, maximum guests and facilities.
Another great new feature is short list/comparison tool. You can now select 2 or more properties to short list, rather than searching through the full list of available properties. There is no limit to the number of properties you can short list. Simply select the properties you would like to short list and click ‘short list off’ to turn it on. The search will now only show the short listed properties you have selected. To return to the full list, simply click ‘short list on’ which will turn the comparison tool off.
For those operators currently using the side menu, this is still easily accessible though the new ‘Site Content’ menu across the top menu bar. All menu items remain available through the drop down items.
The shopping cart has also moved, and is now much more easily accessible at all times in the console. The shopping cart is now located along the top menu bar on the far right. All contents within the shopping cart remain the same, as does the payment processes you current use.
The new internal accommodation search engine offers a more user-friendly experience which will reduce time spent moving around the site while searching and researching for properties.
Should you wish to revert to the old accommodation search engine at any stage, you can do so on the main menu page, under ‘Make Reservation – Legacy Search’. However, we encourage all users to start using the new search engine immediately.
The launch date is scheduled for 20th November 2014, however if you would like to be upgraded before the official release date, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
